I tried printing PLA material layered with rubber material!
"3D Printing with Different Materials: I tried continuous printing with PLA and soft rubber layered in one model!" | System Create
"Mitarepo" is a series that introduces what can be done using various products with the concept of "I tried doing this!" From the wide range of product genres handled by System Create, we deliver useful information each time. In recent years, the emergence of thermal melting 3D printers equipped with IDEX dual heads has made it possible to use different materials in a single print. Additionally, the options for modeling materials have increased, including high-performance resins and elastomers, broadening the range of combinations. This time, we focus on one of those diverse combinations: hard materials and soft materials with different hardness levels. We set up the "Tumaker" equipped with an IDEX dual head with PLA filament and rubber material "Toho A85" pellets, and challenged continuous printing by directly layering the rubber material on top of PLA without using adhesives or stopping midway. The materials include: - Settings in Simplify3D - The condition of the boundary between materials - Photos of the finished product - Confirmation of adhesion You can download the materials from the button below.
